Ingredient Information

All ingredients used in our soaps are high quality from reputable sources and are designed to be used in bath and body products. We make no claims to any health or wellness benefits from using our products, we only state that it is “soap”.

Cold Process Soap
We use a variety of oils to make soap from scratch but most often we use Olive Oil, Babassu Oil, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, and Castor Oil. Some soaps with especially intricate designs may contain lard or canola oils since these keep the soap batter fluid longer. We strive to only use sustainable, responsibly sourced Coconut Oil and Palm Oil for the few recipes that need them but most of our products do not contain either because of environmental concerns.
All soap contains Sodium Hydroxide, commonly known as lye, which is extremely caustic in its unaltered state but when correctly combined with oils it goes through a process known as “saponification” which completely alters the chemical composition of the lye and the oils to form soap. So while we list sodium hydroxide as an ingredient be assured that none of it remains in the finished bars.

Soap Bases
We use glycerin soap bases featuring Non-GMO & Sustainable Coconut Oil. Some soap designs also contain specialty soap bases which incorporate goats milk or honey.
As stated above, while sodium hydroxide is listed as an ingredient no lye particles remain in the finished soap bars.

Fragrance Oils
While a specific ingredient list for the fragrance oils used in our soaps is proprietary to their respective manufacturers and not available, all fragrance oils are  in compliance with the standards of the International Fragrance Association and are used at a concentration designated as safe for skin exposure for wash off products.

Skin Safe Colorants
We use mica, oxides, and titanium dioxide to color our soaps. While titanium dioxide in powder form is dangerous to inhale and is on the California Proposition 65 warning list once the powder is incorporated into a liquid or solid base it can no longer be inhaled and therefore falls off the warning list. All colorants are used in low concentrations and are mixed until thoroughly incorporated to ensure customer safety.
